AIDME

During my sophomore year in high school, I founded my school’s chapter of Girls Who Code and taught myself basic app development. Ultimately combining my design and coding skills, I created AidMe: a 1st aid medical assistance app for K-12 students facing common emergency situations. Representing Congressman Austin Scott, AidMe won Georgia District 8’s 2018 Challenge with a news coverage and pitch opportunity at the House of Code event in Washington DC.

SIMPLY FRESH

During my freshman year in high school, I created a fresh food delivery startup - Simply Fresh - for the Future Business Leaders of America Publication Design competition. As the sole creator in a team of two, I utilized my graphic and product design skills to develop the corporate brand identity, promotional products, and pitch deck. Despite originally placing as an alternate team, Simply Fresh went on to win second place at the National Leadership Convention out of more than 50 teams from across the nation.

TOOBERRY

As part of MIT's 2.00b Toy Product Design cohort, I created the Tooberry: a strawberry-inspired Toober (simon-esque memory game) that is ready to play! I received an overview of the toy design/production process where workshops in electronics and prototyping were followed by lessons in soldering, CAD modeling, and 3D printing for a personalized electronic toy enclosure.

SON, MOON, AND STAR

As part of MIT's 2.00b Toy Product Design cohort, I created a push AND pull toy for young children entitled Son, Moon, and Star. I received a brief overview of the toy design/production process where workshops in woodworking were given.

EMORO

During MIT LaunchX, I collaborated in a team of three to create and pitch our startup before an entrepreneurial panel of judges. Conducting market research in Boston and working together with experienced investors/startup coaches, we developed EMORO: a mobile app designed to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder improve their recognition and response to non-verbal communication cues. As the designer of the team, I was in charge of creating the brand identity of the company and the UI/UX design of the mobile app.

VIVA

During summer of 2019, I attended the Governor’s Honors Program as an Engineering major with a concentration in Mechanical Design. For the Engineering Project Fair, I was in a team of four as the mechanical designer of the group. Being one of the more artistically inclined teams, we chose to design, fabricate, and code an electro-mechanical kinetic art installation in collaboration with the Visual Arts majors.
